Quote Previous Messages in Google Chat
If you use WhatsApp and are lucky enough to be part of a group, you’ve likely swiped right and replied to a previous message; it’s second nature, isn’t it? This is what was missing from Google Chat for years, but now users can welcome the feature since it works in a very similar way to WhatsApp.
“Success is no Accident” – Pele, Famous Soccer Star.
And Google Workspace agrees with Pele. They have purposefully made an awesome improvement to your Google Chat experience on web and mobile devices to help you succeed! You are now able to quote a previous message when replying in a direct message, group message, or space (if set up with in-line threading). This basically helps you provide more context and make your conversations clearer.
Be heard among the sea of messages!
So yeah, this cool feature makes it easier to understand messages by letting you refer back to an earlier one. When you want your response to be seen with the main messages, instead of in a separate thread, you can use message quoting. It helps give more context and keeps the conversation flowing smoothly. It’s also way less awkward than a screenshot reply (yikes).
Who’s using this?
End users. When quoting a message, it provides a convenient way to reference previous messages. When you quote a message, the quote itself becomes a clickable link (yes!) that takes you back to the original message. This feature enhances the user experience by allowing easy navigation between quoted and original messages.
“The Real Risk is doing nothing” – Denis Waitley, Motivational speaker.
